形態特徵

Subshrubs; stems erect or ascending.
Leaves equally or slightly unequally paired, membranaceous to chartaceous, ovate to lanceolate, 5-20 cm long, 2-8.5 cm wide, apex acuminate to long acuminate, margins serrate to dentate-serrate or obscurely double-serrate, base obtuse to shallowly cordate, with three nerves to just below apex; petioles 1-9.5 cm long; stipules 2, free, caducous, narrowly oblong, 1.0-2.2 cm long, 3-7 mm wide, 2-veined, apex obtuse.
Inflorescences usually panicles or interrupted spikes of glomerules of male flowers, and dense to loose cymes of glomerules of sessile of subsessile female flowers; peduncles of male Inflorescences to 5.5 cm long; mixed Inflorescences present. Male flowers glabrous; sepals 3 or 4, connate about halfway, valvate, cymbiform, corniculate; stamens 3 or 4. Female flowers with 3 or 4 sepals; sepals connate at base, unequal, cymbiform; ovary ellipsoid.
Achenes asymmetrical, laterally compressed, ellipsoid.

台灣 : ravines and shady, moist forest floors at medium altitudes throughout the central mountains.
